Alex Ovechkin's Life Chronicled on DVD

Hockey fans who don't care to follow the Pittsburgh Penguins or Washington Capitals sometimes express annoyance at the attention that guys like Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin get.

The reality is that as long as these players "move the needle" for the NHL, nothing is going to change.

In the case of Ovechkin, the latest project is a DVD produced by Warner Home Video and the NHL. Available now, the DVD, called "Alex Ovechkin: The Great 8," goes inside Ovechkin's life, both at the 2010 NHL Awards in Las Vegas and back in his native Russia.

As the program starts, you see the way Ovechkin's Capitals saw their season end in April. It was a stunning, seven-game series loss to the eighth-seeded Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
