Tim Tebow Time Remains Eagerly Anticipated by Broncos Fans

As much as fans may have wanted to see it, coach Josh McDaniels says the timing and circumstances were not right for Broncos rookie quarterback Tim Tebow to gain some experience in a blowout loss to the Oakland Raiders.

McDaniels was asked whether he thought about putting Tebow or even third-stringer Brady Quinn into the game in the place of starter Kyle Orton at the start of the fourth quarter. At the time, the Raiders were ahead 59-14, and that's the way it finished. Orton stayed in at quarterback for the Broncos until the bitter end, though the Raiders pulled most of their starters at the beginning of the fourth period.

"We were just trying to run our offense and made a decision not to do that in that kind of game," McDaniels said. "That's not really the time that I'd want (Tebow) to get work anyways."

Tebow got one snap, handing the ball off on a first-half running play. He had six runs for 23 yards and a touchdown in last week's 24-20 loss to the New York Jets.
