On Sunday, May 29 D.C. United will play its first match against MLS expansion side Portland Timbers. Even though this will be an inaugural encounter for two teams steeped in tradition, there is familiarity between these sides due to a number of offseason transactions that saw several players swap teams. United and Portland exchanged goalkeepers, as Steve Cronin joined the Black-and-Red and Troy Perkins left the District for the Rose City.
