Trades are always judged by who got the best player. The immediate impact is easier to measure than prospects or other future considerations.That said, Boston general manager Peter Chiarelli is easily the top gunslinger as the countdown continues to the Feb. 28 NHL trade deadline.
The Bruins are better today than they were when he started reshaping his lineup. They are closer to having what it takes to compete with Philadelphia and Tampa Bay than they did at the start of the month.
There's sense of urgency in Boston this season because the Bruins and their fans think they have what it takes to challenge for the Stanley Cup.
