Mark Dantonio Suffers Heart Attack After Dramatic Michigan State Win

Filed under: Michigan State, Big 10, CoachingSaturday night, Michigan State pulled off a gutsy fake field goal to beat Notre Dame in dramatic fashion in East Lansing.

Sunday, the Spartans' attention turned to much more important matters.

Head coach Mark Dantonio suffered a heart attack, according to a tweet by Detroit sports reporter Jennifer Hammond. College Football Talk picked up that story, saying Dantonio is fine after quite a health scare.

The school has confirmed the reports in a statement. Dantonio will be out indefinitely, with offensive coordinator Don Treadwell taking over as interim head coach. Permalink | Email this | Linking Blogs | Comments
