WASHINGTON ? D.C. United defender Dejan Jakovic was able to make the most out of an unfortunate situation this summer.
The Canadian international suffered a hamstring injury back on June 1 that ended up keeping him out until the end of July. But instead of lamenting the setback, the 26-year-old hit the weight room to bulk up what he could work on ? his upper body.
The hard work particularly paid off against the Vancouver Whitecaps last weekend, as Jakovic and the rest of DC?s defense kept giant striker Eric Hassli off the score sheet in a 4-0 win for DC.
