USOC: New England hold on to tip DC United 3-2

BOYDS, Md. ? Two Kheli Dube goals on either side of the break paced the New England Revolution to a 3-2 win over D.C. United in a US Open Cup play-in match at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Tuesday evening.

The Revolution jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held on despite a second-half onslaught by DC, who trimmed the deficit thanks to two Branko Boskovic goals.

The match got off to a choppy start, but after things settled down a bit, the visitors struck gold in the 35th minute.
