DeAngelo Williams Likely Out vs. Saints With Foot Injury

The Carolina Panthers (1-6) better hope Jonathan Stewart just needed a game to get warmed up as the feature running back back. He is likely going to be carrying the main load in the run game again with DeAngelo Williams listed as doubtful for Sunday's game with the Saints (5-3).

Williams, who has rushed for 361 yards in six games, suffered a sprained foot against the 49ers on Oct. 24. He did not practice all week.

That leaves the offense in the hands of Stewart and quarterback Matt Moore. Stewart gained just 30 yards on 14 carries against the Rams last week in a 20-10 loss. Moore threw three interceptions.

The Panthers, however, do have some defense to fall back on. The defense's above average play this season has them ranked fourth overall in total defense in the NFL.
