Neither pitcher has outrageous home/road splits, but Sanchez has been a better pitcher away from AT&T Park this year (2.86 ERA vs. 3.26 at home) and the opposite has been true for Cain (2.93 ERA at home, 3.35 on the road).
More specific to the situation, Sanchez has started twice at Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park in his career, allowing two runs in 14 innings. He's also more of a strikeout pitcher, and keeping the ball out of play is always a good idea in that ballpark. Cain, meanwhile, has been roughed up in his outings in Philly, posting a 5.29 ERA in three starts and surrendering seven homers in 17 innings there.
The switch lines up Cain to pitch in a potential Game 7, with Sanchez in Game 6. Tim Lincecum will pitch the opener and likely Game 5, with Madison Bumgarner probably starting in Game 4.
