So it really was about the money.The Wayne Rooney saga that had gripped the soccer world this week came to a surprising conclusion on Friday when the-24-year old forward signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United that reportedly will pay the underperforming, injured, complaining, prostitute-procuring striker up to £180,000 ($283,600) per week.
When presented with the offer, Rooney obviously was able to overcome any doubts about his relationship with manager Alex Ferguson or his crippling concern that United wasn't capable of pursuing additional high-priced talent.
