Ryan Mathews Injury Update: Practiced in Full, Expected to Play Cardinals

Chargers running back Ryan Mathews practiced without restrictions Friday and is expected to play Sunday when San Diego hosts the Arizona Cardinals.

Mathews missed last Sunday's game at Seattle after spraining his ankle two weeks ago during the first quarter of the Chargers' home-opening victory over Jacksonville. Mike Tolbert played well in their top pick's absence and the Chargers may try to ease Mathews back into action.

While Mathews is expected back, pass rushing linebacker Shawne Merriman probably won't be available. He's officially listed as doubtful after being unable to practice this week.
