Josh Hamilton to Hone Swing Before Playoffs Against Rangers Lefties

Josh HamiltonIn the world of playoff baseball, clubs can't put all the players they'd like on the postseason roster.

The pitching staff usually takes the biggest hit, and so it will be with the Texas Rangers, who are back in the playoffs for the first time since 1999.

For one Rangers pitcher, possibly Matt Harrison, Derek Holland or Michael Kirkman if they don't make the roster, however, that doesn't necessarily mean a trip home.

In an effort to get center fielder Josh Hamilton up to speed following a long bout with sore ribs after he crashed into a fence in pursuit of a ball against the Twins back on Sept. 4, the Rangers will bring along extra pitching.
