This was one of those games.
He was without question the driving force in Detroit's 7-5 win in Ottawa on Wednesday, scoring five goals on 10 shots, giving him a team-best 25 goals on the season.
Franzen at times seems to get overlooked (perhaps not in Detroit, but on a league-wide level) in the Red Wings lineup, not only because he seems to be hidden in the shadow of Detroit's other star players like Henrik Zetterberg, Pavel Datsyuk and Nicklas Lidstrom, but also because injuries have shortened just about every season he's played in the NHL. But make no mistake, when he's healthy and on the ice he's proven to be a multi-talented goal-scorer, and Wednesday's game was a great example of what he's capable of.
