Felipe Lopez Gets Minors Deal With Rays

Felipe LopezThe Rays still could use another reliever or two before spring training begins, but they added an extra infielder Tuesday in Felipe Lopez.

The well-traveled veteran would get $1 million if he spends the entire year in the majors and has a chance to earn an additional $1 million in incentives, according to ESPN Deportes.

Lopez will have a chance to make the Rays' roster as a backup to Evan Longoria, Reid Brignac and Sean Rodriguez. The switch-hitter spent most of 2010 with the Cardinals before they cut him loose and the Red Sox scooped him up for the last couple weeks of the season.
