Jerry Jones 'Pleased' With How Cowboys Are Performing Under Jason Garrett

ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Dallas Cowboys had just guaranteed their first losing season since 2004, but Jason Garrett wasn't interested in looking at any big pictures.

"We're living in the day," Garrett said after Philadelphia's big-play 30-27 victory Sunday night at Cowboys Stadium. "That's what we do around here."

Maybe so, but the rest of us witnesses (whether near or far) to the 53-car pileup in North Texas can't help but wonder what living in the Dallas days a few months from now will be like for the underachieving Cowboys.

That's why nearly every question lobbed at Jerry Jones -- the only owner/president/general manager who does post-game news conferences -- focused on the status of Garrett, installed to pilot home the listing Dallas ship after Wade Phillips walked the plank following that dreadful 1-7 start.

"We've had five games and I like the way the team is feeling about themselves," Jones said. "Jason deserves the credit there."
