The Calgary Flames have all season long espoused the reality that they need goal production from their entire lineup if they have any hope, however faint, of stringing wins together and earning a playoff berth in the NHL Western Conference.
The fourth-liners, it seems, are taking the challenge to heart.
The trio of David Moss, Tim Jackman and Tom Kostopoulos have arguably been the club's best line in the past several weeks.
Even with the loss of Kostopoulos to his six-game suspension for breaking Detroit Red Wing Brad Stuart's jaw, the remaining members of the so-called energy line are continuing with their inspired play.
Moss, who scored twice in Ottawa two games ago, has five goals and seven points in his last nine games; the hulking Jackman, meanwhile, has three tallies and eight points in his last nine.
In Kostopoulos' absence, rookie Mikael Backlund has filled in between the two 29-year-olds.
